Join us for an intimate wine and cheese reception for the Artist. Josh will give a slide talk where he will discuss his creative process in his current body of work.  He will share his thoughts on where he finds inspiration and his artistic point of view.  The artist's pottery will be for sale during the reception.

These two days will be hands on learning wheel techniques that Josh uses in his studio practice.  Josh has communicated that he is comfortable helping students working on various projects at once which gives you quite a bit of freedom. This means you choose which pots you will want to try your hand at.

If time allows, Josh will be demonstrating how he throws and decorates his large jars.

Our max for this day is 14 hands on participants.

How to sign up?

Signups for this workshop will take place online and will begin on Sunday, August 10th at 1pm. Due to the first day being demonstration only we will have more spaces available for that day than the three day option.  The sign up link will be posted at the bottom of this page once we go live with workshop signups.

What is needed?

If you are participating in the demo only day, you will just need a notebook and pen.  Lunch will not be provided, but we will break for lunch and have several lunch spots near the studio.  If you would prefer not to eat out, you may bring a lunch with you.  There will be plenty of space to sit and enjoy your lunch.

If you are participating in hands on learning, you are welcome to use our studio reclaim clay at no additional cost.  If you wish to use a different clay, you may purchase it at the studio on the day of the workshop.  We will have all our studio clays available for purchase.  The techniques you will learn in this workshop will translate well to a cone six or low fire environment as it is wheel focused. You will also, need to plan on bringing any throwing tools you typcially use at the wheel.

Important: Please note that Josh will likely be making a very large jar. If you are taking your pot home at the end of the workshop, we will not place limits on the size of your piece, but if you wish to keep it at the studio until it is dry and have it fired at Twisted Clay, we will be enforcing our 17" height limit as our space is limited at the studio.
